I am a Year 6 student at Christ the King School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Room 6 and my teacher is Miss Graham. This blog shows my learning journey so it is not perfect. Please comment on what I did well and what I could do to improve it.

Saint John the Baptist
St John The Baptist
I am St John the Baptist I am a preacher who baptises people. I am the son of Zechariah and Elizabeth. I tell people to believe in God for the coming of Jesus Christ. My birthday is on June the 24th. I am known for going out in the wild and for wearing animal skin. I was beheaded by Herod Antipas.
Moment in Time
Walt describe a moment in time
S.C: We need to:
- Just describe the moment in the photo
- keep to one picture
- no before or after
- Explain where and why you are there
- use the present tense
- use descriptive words to show what we see, hear, taste, smell, touch or feel.
Plan: Mary McKillop Centre, School, Sisters, Listening, Chapel, Welcoming, Getting ready.
Story: “Good Morning and welcome to this celebration” says Bronson. As I listen I thank God for this lovely day to celebrate the 60th Jubilee of Christ the King School.
I can also feel the nice cold breeze brushing against my face. The rest of the school surrounded the altar. While Bronson is talking could see the Sisters smiling and looking at Bronson. I could also hear the wind swirling and twirling outside. The smell of the wind is making me feel refreshed.
As i’m in the chapel I say to myself “I wonder what it would be like without Sisters/Nuns.”

New Zealand National Anthem Lyrics
The New Zealand National Anthem
God of nations at thy feet
In the bonds of love we meet.
God of nations at thy feet
In the bonds of love we meet.
Hear our voices, we entreat,
God defend our free land.
Guard Pacific's triple star
From the shafts of strife and war,
Make her praises heard afar,
God defend New Zealand
E Ihoa Atua,
O nga Iwi! Matoura,
Ata whakarongona;
Me aroha roa.
Kia hua ko te pai;
Kia tau to atawhai;
Manaakitia mai
Aotearoa
Men of every creed and race
Gather here before thy face,
Asking thee to bless this place,
God defend our free land.
From dissension, envy, hate,
And corruption guard our state,
Make our country good and great,
God defend New Zealand.
